Fire & Ice

Jarrahdale and Kabocha winter squash drying on racks.
After the curing process, they'll be ready to give to the
foodbanks for use as a baked vegetable or in pies and pastries.
The flesh of both varieties are dark and sweet.

We also grew Baby Pam, a small, baking pumpkin. Most
jack-o-lantern pumpkins are NOT for eating. This is a pie
pumpkin and it too, has sweet, dark flesh.

A view from under the drying rack.
