Sara & Malanyan's Wedding

I don't remember blogging about Sara & Malanyon's wedding a few months ago so here are some photos. Both Sara and Malanyon worked at Hickory Nut Gap farm in different capacities at one time or another. They got married on top of a large rock in the apple orchard at the Big House with John Ager presiding. That rock has been the site of quite a few weddings since we moved to Fairview.

Here's Ann with her dad William. William is Susie & Will's oldest son and he and his wife Molly live across the orchard from us.

Ann's sister, Eva, well, being Eva.

Jake & Friends Bouldering

I don't think they call it 'bouldering' but there's no one here to ask what the correct term is. Both Walker and Jake go to this place called Rumbling Bald to do this where everyone else there asks them where their landing pads and ropes are. Here are photos of Austin and I think Catherine looking buff.

Jake & Sara Go Riding

Several weeks ago, before leaving for Honduras, Jake and girlfriend Sara went riding to the top of Maycherry just behind our house. Here are some photos Jake took of the day with his new camera.

Fish & Kiwis

Here's Gabriel with his camping trip catch.

And Walker with last night's dinner. A grand bass specimen that we promptly ate for supper.

L-R Here's Walker with Nathan and Erin who he went fishing with. Nathan just came over from New Zealand to visit Erin who is Walker's work partner on the farm. You may recall that Erin just came back from New Zealand not that long ago. Ah, you catching on now? Yeah, they're an item. Last week Erin made bagels from scratch and brought us a bag. Oh man! They were beyond anything I've ever purchased. Just awesome. Now I suppose Nathan will be getting all the baking experiments. Oh well. We'd rather have him than bagels.

Nose Job and More

Here's one of the few photos we have of Jake and his "nose job". He broke it in a non-university game several weeks ago and it had to be re-cracked and re-set in places in order for him to breath. He had to look through a catalog of classic noses before going into surgery and he chose, well, the one he'd always had which we think has always been 'classic'.

Now how does a guy get two beautiful women to join a tickling fest? You'll have to ask Walker. I can't remember if Austin was helping Walker or saw his chance to get him back. Here, Cameron (his girlfriend) and friends Hannah and Austin (Jake was on the couch nearby with strict orders not to engage in wrestling)try their hand at making Walker cry "Uncle". As I recall, I never did hear the word.

My dear friend Gabriel on a recent family camping trip. I believe the morsel is a roasted marshmallow. We got him a multi-mallow roasting stick for his recent birthday and he was trying it out.

We're All About Food

It's been weeks since I last blogged. Here's Jake and Austin's night to cook for the Shattuck's anniversary. Jake is putting the finishing touches on a chocolate-mocha roll cake. The frosting here is whipped cream, sugar and coffee syrup. We had to cut this bad boy into 17 pieces so luckily we only got a thousand calories each from our slivers. The guys also made a roasted vegetable dish with cheese sauce that was worth serving at any anniversary. I think it was Austin who commented that maybe we're a bit warped since when we get a big group of us together we seem to talk on and on about food.

Here, the girls look at a fold out we have of native birds of the area.

The 3-friends reunite after and between trips to everywhere. Mark went to China, Austin is now in Africa and Jake is in Honduras.
